  1. Sandeep Kapoor

Abstract

The growing importance of sustainable finance has increased the need to understand the factors that influence individuals’ sustainable investment behavior. In this context, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives and financial literacy have emerged as important mechanisms for promoting responsible financial decision-making. This study examines the role of financial literacy as a CSR-driven capability supported by FinTech platforms in promoting sustainable investment practices. Drawing on stakeholder theory and digital finance literature, the study investigates the relationships among CSR initiatives, financial literacy, FinTech adoption, and sustainable investment behavior. Using a quantitative research approach, the study analyzes the direct and indirect effects of CSR initiatives and FinTech adoption on sustainable investment practices, while considering the mediating role of financial literacy. The findings reveal that CSR initiatives significantly improve financial literacy by promoting financial education and stakeholder awareness. Financial literacy, in turn, positively influences individuals’ adoption of sustainability-oriented investment practices. The results also show that FinTech adoption enhances both financial literacy and sustainable investment behavior by providing access to financial information, digital investment tools, and sustainable financial products. Furthermore, financial literacy partially mediates the relationship between CSR initiatives and sustainable investment practices. The study contributes to the literature by integrating CSR, financial literacy, and FinTech perspectives to explain sustainable investment behavior. The findings suggest that CSR-driven financial education initiatives and FinTech- enabled financial platforms can play a significant role in fostering responsible investment practices and advancing sustainable financial development.
