Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data MBA Journals collects through mbajournals.celnet.in (the "Service"), why, who sees it, and how you can control it. MBA Journals is an imprint of Consortium eLearning Network Pvt. Ltd., A-118, 1st Floor, Sector 63, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. We are the data controller. Effective 12 October 2026.
The short version
We collect only what the Service needs to work. We do not sell your data, run advertising or analytics trackers, or build profiles of readers. You can ask to see, correct or delete your data at any time.
1. What we collect
| When | What we collect |
|---|---|
| You only browse, read or download | Technical data your browser sends: IP address (stored only as a one-way hash), browser and device type, the pages and articles you open, and the time. No account and no cookies. |
| You create an account or sign in | Name, email address, institution, country, and your password (stored only as a hash, never readable by us). |
| You submit a manuscript or serve as editor or reviewer | The details you give: author names and affiliations, ORCID, the manuscript and its metadata, review reports, correspondence. |
| You buy a subscription or paid access | Name, billing details you enter, and a payment reference. Your card or bank details go straight to Razorpay and are never seen or stored by us. |
| You write to us or use the Support button | Your message, your email address, and anything you choose to include. |
| An institution gives you access | The library or institution tells us your institutional email or IP range so we can recognise your access. |
We do not collect sensitive personal data such as health, financial account, caste, religion or government ID numbers, and we do not track your location.
2. Why we use it
- To run the Service, publish articles, and manage peer review and editorial work.
- To create and manage your account, subscriptions and payments, and to send you service emails such as password resets, receipts and renewal notices.
- To answer your questions and give support.
- To keep the Service secure and to detect abuse and robot traffic.
- To produce usage statistics for libraries and publishers (for example COUNTER-style reports), which count visits, not people.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
- To send news or offers only if you have chosen to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time.
The legal basis is your consent, the contract you enter into with us (for example a subscription), our legitimate interest in running a secure service, or a legal obligation.
3. Cookies
If you only read and download, we set no cookies. When you sign in we set two necessary ones. We use no advertising, analytics or social-media trackers. Details are in our Cookie Policy.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with:
Service providers
- Razorpay processes payments.
- Amazon Web Services (SES) sends our emails, so your email address and the message pass through it.
- Our hosting provider stores the Service and its data.
Others, where needed
- Editors and reviewers, for the manuscripts they handle.
- Your institution or library, if you use its access, in aggregate or as required to confirm your access.
- Authorities, if the law requires or a valid legal request is made.
- A successor, if the business is sold or merged, under the same commitments.
Our service providers may only use your data to provide their service to us. Some of them, such as Amazon and Razorpay, may process data outside India.
5. How long we keep it
| Data | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Hashed IP address on usage records | 90 days, then removed |
| Browser identifier (user agent) on usage records | 400 days, then removed |
| Anonymous usage counts for reports | Kept, because libraries need year-on-year statistics. They identify nobody. |
| Email delivery log | 90 days |
| Account details | While your account is open, and for a limited time after you close it |
| Published articles and their author details | Permanently. A published article is part of the scholarly record. |
| Invoices and payment records | As long as tax and accounting law requires |
6. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your data;
- stop or limit how we use it, or withdraw consent you gave us earlier;
- nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf if you cannot.
These rights come from India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and, if you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, from the GDPR. We apply them to everyone.
We first confirm that the request comes from the email address concerned, and a person then reviews it. Some data cannot be deleted: a published article is part of the public record, and invoices must be kept by law. We will tell you what we kept and why. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India, or to your local data protection authority.
7. Security
The Service uses HTTPS, passwords are stored only as hashes, access to staff tools is limited by role, and we keep the data we hold to a minimum. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
8. Children
The Service is for researchers, students and professionals. It is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has given us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.
9. Links to other sites
The Service links to other websites, such as journal publishers, indexing databases and your institution. We do not control them and their privacy practices are their own.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top and the "last updated" date at the bottom show the current version. For significant changes we will put a notice on the Service and, where we hold your email, write to you.
11. Contact and grievances
For questions, requests or complaints about your personal data, write to info@mbajournals.in. Our grievance officer under Indian law is Rahul Kumar, Publication Manager, who can also be reached directly at rahul@celnet.in. We acknowledge messages promptly and aim to resolve them within 30 days. Postal address: Consortium eLearning Network Pvt. Ltd., A-118, 1st Floor, Sector 63, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India.
