Abstract

Urban mobility depends heavily on public transit, which calls for effective risk management techniques to guarantee service dependability, efficiency, and safety. Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) buses in Pune and the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) area are the subject of this study's analysis of the risk management framework. The study emphasizes important facets of operational risk, such as passenger safety protocols, driver training, vehicle design, and route planning. In order to reduce possible risks, PMPML has incorporated proactive methods like GPS-based monitoring, real-time tracking, and driver health assessments into its organized road surveys and risk detection procedures. In keeping with the concepts of corporate social responsibility (CSR), the study also investigates how moral transportation laws promote environmentally friendly public transportation. Data-driven enhancements in transportation planning and service delivery have resulted from the use of risk assessment matrices and security evaluations. This method lowers operational disturbances, encourages responsible urban mobility, and improves passenger safety by utilizing technology and strategic risk assessment. The results highlight how crucial an organized risk management system is to guaranteeing moral, safe, and effective public transportation services.
